Autocross or SOLO II is a form of racing where a course is laid out in a large open area, usually a parking lot, with cones. Cars then race through one at a time trying to achieve the lowest time. Most organizations have a system to class each car so that everyone can be fairly competitive. I currently autocross with the Milwaukee Region of the SCCA and hopefully I can run a few events with the Madison Sports Car Club. A great magazine for info on Autocrossing and other amateur motorsports is Grassroots Motorsports.
At school I am on a team that builds our own autocross car for the Formula
